Turnaround Friends, Inc.
TFI is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization
whose mission is to transform shameful conditions within a
local community into a source of pride. TFI's Board of Directors consists of unpaid volunteer retired
executives from various fields (CPA, PE, attorney, upper level
executives, etc.). 100% of TFI's revenues are applied to its
mission and project. TFI is totally volunteer staffed, no payroll,
no employees.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Anthony Marraccini - President
Anthony Marraccini received a BA Columbia College and MS Columbia University Graduate
School of Business. Founder/Corporate CEO/Chairman. Was general
contractor/controller of the budgeting and construction of two
commercial buildings and many major construction projects
related to the wireless communications industry.
Alex J. Castro, PE - V.P. & Secretary ***
Bachelor of Civil Engineering,
Manhattan
College, registered Professional Engineer in New
York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Delaware. Alex
has had more than 44 years of experience with the HNTB
Corporation, holding positions ranging from Structural Bridge
Designer to Chief of Specifications to Project Manager.
Mr. Castro received a national award from the Construction
Specifications Institute for specifications written for the
Second Delaware Memorial Bridge.
Milton Zlotnick - V.P. & Treasurer
New York City College BS degree in accounting and a
Certified Public Accountant, was the founding and managing
partner of a midsize CPA firm in New York City before
retiring. He served for a number of years on the New
York State Society of CPAs Financial Planning Committee.
He is currently a counselor for the Service Corps of Retired
Executives, a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business
Administration.
John Donovan -
V.P. Public Relations
A retired corporate compliance officer, John Donovan, JD, was also Counsel for
significant financial firms. John has
communication skills and expertise in organizational
development in the public and private sector. He
serves as liaison and consults with other organizations to
ensure support of TFI's mission. John's community service work is
broad and he serves on other boards and civic associations.
Shirlee Marraccini - V.P. Administration
Retired corporate
officer and contract negotiator. Shirlee brings a wealth of experience in operations and
implementation of administrative programs. Shirlee
coordinates a variety of activities, such as fundraising,
Internet exposure, and research. She provides direct
assistance to all board members and volunteers, in addition to
development of presentations and written materials. Shirlee has a business background, and prior to retirement
served as a corporate vice president in contract administration.
She is active in community groups and serves on committees and
executive boards, such as Staten Island Parks Alliance.
Thomas A. Paulo - V.P. Ex-Officio
Borough Commissioner
of Parks and Recreation, New York City. He is an attorney and
a professional landscape architect holding degrees and licenses in
both professions. His guidance and experience provides the
foundation for TFI's success.
Helane Wendrow - V.P. Development
Helane Wendrow is TFI's newest board member. Helane
recently retired from her position as Director of Contract Relations
for the Human Resources Administration of the City of New York,
where she wrote RFPs and negotiated multi-million dollar contracts.
Helane holds a BA from Hunter College and a MSW from Fordham
University.
